Membership

For enrollment in Classes or open workshop, artist membership is required. Membership is open to all artists for an annual fee of $35 and entitles members to numerous benefits.
  • Nominal-cost special events, such as visits to print collections in major institutions.
  • Opportunity to include your work in the MGC slide file for review by visiting curators.
  • Eligibility for one-person shows at MGC, for members currently working at the studio.
  • Participation in portfolio and exhibition projects.
The mission of the Manhattan Graphic Center is to provide a place for artist members to work and continue their studies. MGC is a non-profit, fine art printmaking studio. 2006 marks the workshop's 20th year in operation.The administration of Manhattan Graphics Center is done mainly by key holders. For their commitment to monitor four hours per week, key holders have access to the studio when it is closed and also receive tuition discounts when the studio is open. about Manhattan Graphics Center

Manhattan Graphics Center is a fully equipped, fine-arts printmaking studio that welcomes artists at all levels of printmaking experience. MGC offers many options for independent workspace use and a wide variety of classes. Semester-length classes are always offered for people interested in learning silkscreen, lithography and intaglio/etching. A selection of shorter, rotating workshop classes are offered in Western Woodcut, Japanese Woodcut, Photogravure, Monotype and others.

Open workshop hours are offered at affordable rates. Artists may register for the whole semester or choose a pro-rated schedule, including a daily rate. For more information on tuition rates, check the registration form.

The center facilities include 3 etching presses, acid room, rosin box, 3 lithographic presses, silkscreen area, a complete darkroom and exposing room.

You may review the complete course listing or view the individual classes below. Under special workshop we offer many revolving courses, from new techniques to intensive workshops such as photogravure and monotype. Classes include 12 hours of open workshop a week. Click on image for more details.

Printmakers can rent workshop time only. We offer several options, a daily, weekly, or full semester rate. Our flexible option offers from 12 to 32 hours a week. Location
